SNOWSHOEING [G] - Gentle Activity

Note: Wellness classes are currently offered at Ste. Anne's Spa, Grafton location only.

During this wellness class you will have the opportunity to snowshoe through the rolling snow-draped hills of Northumberland County. Never snowshoed before? You will be given instructions on how to use your state-of-the art snowshoes before you begin your guided snowshoeing experience through our outdoor trails. Remember to bring your outdoor winter attire and water bottle to ensure your comfort while exploring the trails!

Your Class May Feature:

  • natural streams
  • man-made bridges
  • resting benches
  • hand rails at extreme inclines
  • state-of-the art snowshoes provided
  • navigational signs (ask at front desk for a map of the snowshoeing trails)
Range of Motion Required:
  • moderate personal balance required to maintain stability in your snowshoes 
  • walk for at least one hour at a moderate pace
  • walk up and down moderately steep hills
  • walk on uneven ground

  • [P] - Safe for women in their third trimester of pregnancy, dependent on doctor approval

Don't Forget to Bring:

  • winter hiking boots
  • water bottle
  • snow pants
  • winter jacket
  • hat
  • mittens
  • sunglasses (just in case)
Not Recommended if you:
  • are recovering from major surgery
  • have a major heart condition or other physical ailment that prohibits an increase in heart rate
  • have any severe joint injuries on your lower extremities
