MOOR MUD BATH AT STE. ANNE'S SPA
by Lisa Ferguson, RMT

You're encouraged to experience Ste. Anne's Spa Golden Moor Mud Bath; the only spa in Canada to offer this unique spa experience where the ancient healing powers of mud are used to detoxify your body and warm your muscles. Golden Moor Mud is a therapeutic mud found in a bog in Casselman, Ontario, near Ottawa. This organic mud is thousands of years old and undergoes ongoing laboratory testing to ensure its' detoxifying and therapeutic qualities. Our bath of Golden Moor Mud and Saskatchewan clay is so dense that you actually float! So please note that this is a nude treatment. The benefits of the mud are more therapeutic through direct contact with your skin. Our professional therapists are very discreet and respectful of your privacy throughout this spa treatment.

Your experience will begin by cleansing your mind and body in one of our steam rooms. This process also warms up your body in preparation for the heat of the mud bath. After your steam and a rinse in a hot shower, your therapist will help you climb into the mud bath. When you enter the tub, you gently set your self on top of the mud and then cover yourself with the warm, pudding-like mud. The suspended feeling and support of your body is a truly unique experience. Once enveloped in the warm, smooth mud from the neck down, your therapist will apply Aveda's Intensive Hydrating Masque (that has been chilled) to your face to cool and moisturize your skin. Then, Aveda's Toning Mist is spritzed onto your face to revitalize and refresh your skin. Face cloths soaked in ice water are applied frequently to your forehead throughout the treatment to prevent over-heating of the face. After approximately 10 minutes in the mud bath, you are carefully escorted out of the tub. Once showered, the spa treatment concludes with a relaxing Vichy shower where an aromatherapy oil is gently massaged onto your back.

The mud is sterilized after each treatment with 185 Degree water and drained.
